Annapurna Trekking

Annapurna Region TrekkingCentral part of Nepal beauty is dominated by Annapurna Himal and the town of Pokhara. In Annapurna trekking region there are specially three major trekking routes: to Jomsom, to the Annapurna Sanctuary and a circuit of the entire massif Annapurna trekking. Pokhara is also a good starting place for a number of shorter treks, three of which are described in this chapter. The ancient kingdom of Lo Manthang (Mustang) is also geographically a part of the Annapurna trekking, but treks to Mustang are subject to special restrictions.

This weeklong lodge trek in the Annapurna Foothills to the viewpoint on Poon Hill offers all the best of Annapurna trekking in Nepal including accommodation in comfortable family run trekkers' lodges along the way. We everyday enjoy in Annapurna trekking with spectacular mountain scenery through charming villages inhabited by the Gurungs, dense rhododendron forests full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys, all set below the Annapurna’s with the picturesque fluted peak of Machapuchare (Fish Tail Peak) dominating the skyline. At the climax of Annapurna trekking you will climb Poon Hill at dawn to enjoy one of the most spectacular Mountain View on Earth.

Giants, Dhaulagiri 8,167m and Annapurna 8,091m along with a maze of other peaks slowly begin to appear, like magic, before our eyes, a rewarding trek that can be enjoyed by every lover of nature and beautiful landscapes. Easy to moderate trekking from 900m to 2,975m at an easy pace. Accommodations in comfortable lodges run by local families.

Climate: Because there is no formidable barrier directly to the south to obstruct the spring and monsoon rain clouds, the region near Pokhara is subject to abnormally high rainfall- almost double that of Kathmandu. This accounts for the large glaciers at relatively low elevations inside the Annapurna Sanctuary. Always be prepared for rain when we trek in central Nepal.
